Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: Bullet Train, Dholera Solar Park & Mega Projects Power State’s Future

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, first launched in 2003, has grown into one of the world’s most influential platforms for business networking and strategic partnerships. With the theme “Gateway to the Future”, the 2024 edition runs from January 10–12, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year’s focus is on securing large-scale investments and advancing transformative infrastructure projects that signal Gujarat’s bold vision for growth.

Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train

Work on the 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor is progressing rapidly, with completion targeted for August 2026. Valued at over ₹2 lakh crore, the project will connect Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli with trains running at 320 km/h, cutting travel time from five hours to just 2 hours 7 minutes. The route will feature 12 stations and carry around 17,900 passengers daily in each direction. Three travel classes—Standard, Business, and Grand—will cater to varied passenger needs, promising a game-changing boost for business, tourism, and daily commuting.

Dholera Solar Park

Located about 100 km south of Ahmedabad in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), the 5,000 MW Dholera Solar Park is India’s largest solar energy project. Spread over 11,000 hectares and divided into 11 blocks, the park is part of the country’s first platinum-rated industrial smart city. With 920 sq km of planned development, DSIR also boasts India’s largest contiguous land parcel and a Green City Rating from the IGBC, setting a benchmark for sustainable urban growth.

Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub

On the eastern side of the Sabarmati High-Speed Rail Station, a state-of-the-art Multimodal Transport Hub is being developed to seamlessly integrate rail, road, and other transport modes. Designed as a twin-structure complex, it will feature offices, retail spaces, and commercial hubs, creating a vibrant passenger-friendly ecosystem.

Gujarat Hybrid Renewable Energy Park

Near the India–Pakistan border, the Gujarat Hybrid Renewable Energy Park is the world’s largest hybrid power facility, combining solar and wind energy to generate 30 GW of green power. With an investment of ₹1.5 lakh crore, this mega project will significantly contribute to India’s renewable energy targets while strengthening Gujarat’s leadership in sustainable power generation.

From high-speed rail to clean energy leadership, Gujarat’s mega projects showcased at the 2024 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit are not just infrastructure milestones—they are the building blocks of a future-ready economy.
