Tata Group Seeks Additional 80 Acres to Expand Dholera Semiconductor Plant
The Tata Group has requested 80 additional acres of land from the Gujarat government to expand its under-construction semiconductor chip fabrication plant at Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).
The new land parcel will adjoin the existing 20-acre site of the facility. According to officials, Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, plans to utilize this expansion not only for the plant but also to develop housing facilities for approximately 3,000–3,500 employees. The proposed housing is expected to include studio-apartment style units, ensuring convenient accommodation for plant staff and supporting the overall workforce infrastructure.
This expansion underscores Tata Group’s commitment to scaling India’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and establishing Dholera as a major hub for advanced chip production.
