Tata Group to Create 5 Lakh Manufacturing Jobs in 5 Years, Includes Dholera Semiconductor Plant

The Tata Group has announced plans to generate over 500,000 new manufacturing jobs in India over the next five years, backed by major investments in advanced industries such as semiconductors, batteries, electric vehicles, solar equipment, and high-tech hardware.

In his New Year’s message, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said the initiative will significantly boost India’s manufacturing capabilities while creating indirect employment through the sector’s strong multiplier effect.

Key Projects Driving Job Creation
  • India’s first semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat
  • OSAT semiconductor plant in Assam
  • New MRO facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka
  • Electronics assembly plant in Narsapura, Karnataka
  • Automotive plant in Pannpakkam, Tamil Nadu
  • Battery cell manufacturing units in Somerset, UK and Sanand, Gujarat
  • C295 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Vadodara, Gujarat
  • Solar module production in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu

Chandrasekaran highlighted that global supply chains are shifting to India, creating more economic opportunities. Beyond manufacturing, Tata Group will also expand jobs in retail, tech services, aviation, hospitality, and artificial intelligence (AI). He expressed confidence that these developments will not only strengthen the Tata Group but also offer hope to the 1 million young Indians entering the workforce each month.
