Tata Electronics Eyes Two More Semiconductor Fabs in Dholera
Tata Electronics is planning to establish two additional semiconductor fabrication plants in Dholera, Gujarat, strengthening its long-term vision of manufacturing advanced chips in India for both domestic and global markets.
The company’s first ₹91,000-crore fab, being developed in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), is slated to begin chip production by 2026. The decision on partners for the upcoming fabs—whether to continue with PSMC or explore other collaborations—will be taken closer to the launch of the next phase.
The expansion, expected to roll out within five to seven years, will feature fabs of similar scale to the first, with technology nodes determined by global demand and industry advancements once the initial facility reaches full capacity.
With Dholera SIR emerging as India’s fastest-growing greenfield industrial hub, investors have a golden opportunity to tap into a region rapidly becoming a semiconductor powerhouse.
