Dholera International Airport to be Ready by End of 2026, Says Industries Minister
Gandhinagar, June 11, 2023 — Gujarat Industries Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma announced that the ambitious Dholera International Airport project, a landmark in the state’s infrastructure growth, will be completed by the end of 2026. Work on the project is progressing at a rapid pace, with operations being carried out on a war footing.
Commending the Office of the State Industries Commissioner, the minister highlighted a “zero pendency” target for resolving all issues affecting the Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector within the coming week—a move he called commendable. He also urged the department to make labour and employment schemes accessible to all MLAs.
Addressing ways to boost Gujarat’s salt industry, Vishwakarma spoke about enhancing facilities for farmers and emphasized the importance of the Anubandham Portal, launched by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, as a vital link between employers and job seekers. He directed that more sector-specific industries be onboarded to the platform.
During the meeting, senior officials from the Industries, Cottage & Village Industries, and Labour & Employment departments presented detailed reports on their operations. The session included discussions on new GIDC projects, state airport development, a smart ceramic park, minimum wages, and working hours.
Parliamentarians and legislators shared suggestions, including a proposal by MP Bharat Singh Dabhi to establish a dedicated driving school for women—an idea the minister welcomed with readiness for implementation.
