CM Showcases Dholera SIR Progress at National Industrial Corridor Meeting

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated virtually in the second meeting of the Apex Committee of the National Industrial Corridor Development Program, attended by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and leaders from several states.

During the meeting, CM Patel thanked the Central Government for its consistent support in advancing Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), a key part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He highlighted the establishment of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited—a Special Purpose Vehicle jointly formed by the state and central governments—to develop world-class infrastructure in the activation area.

Patel announced that infrastructure construction in the activation zone is nearing completion, with land allotment to entrepreneurs already underway. Proposals have been received for schools, hospitals, hotels, residential projects, and more. Additionally, 600 affordable rental housing units, under the PMAY model, are set to be developed.

Key connectivity projects are also progressing rapidly. The Ahmedabad-Dholera Motorway (part of the Bharat Mala project) has crossed 38% completion under NHAI supervision, with full state support to meet deadlines. Dholera will also benefit from the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the planned Bhimnath-Dholera railway line, for which land acquisition is in its final stages.

The Central and State governments have already approved the Ahmedabad-Botad Broad Gauge Railway Line connecting Bhimnath Station to Dholera SIR. All land and infrastructure details are now geo-referenced on the PM Gati Shakti Gujarat portal.

Patel urged the Apex Authority to facilitate timely completion of the Dholera Airport, grant approvals for the Ahmedabad-Dholera semi-high-speed rail project, and include the Mandal Bacharaji Special Investment Region in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
