Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway 95% Complete; CM Reviews Dholera SIR Progress
Dholera SIR is moving rapidly toward becoming India’s first “Semicon City,” with major infrastructure nearing completion. Dr. Kuldeep Arya, CEO of Dholera SIR and MD of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited, presented a comprehensive progress report to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Chief Secretary, and senior officials.
The Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, a key connectivity project, is now 95% complete. The CM directed officials to ensure timely completion with top-quality standards. In Dholera, all core infrastructure—roads, underground utilities, and plug-and-play facilities—is ready. Key installations such as a water treatment plant, sewage and effluent treatment plants, ICT infrastructure, the ABCD building, and a 300 MW solar park have been completed.
Ongoing developments include the Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line, a 192-bed hospital, a school up to Class 12, a fire station, and residential complexes for investors. Around 12 project developers shared updates on their construction progress and future plans. A major highlight was the review of Tata Electronics’ ₹91,000 crore semiconductor fabrication plant within Dholera Semicon City. The CM met with Tata officials, inspected the site, and toured the facility. He also reviewed other upcoming amenities, including a tent city, food court, and investor housing.
The visit concluded with an inspection of Dholera International Airport, where work is underway on the cargo terminal, passenger terminal, and runway—being built at an estimated cost of ₹1,350 crore. With expressway connectivity, high-end infrastructure, and global semiconductor investments, Dholera is rapidly emerging as a world-class industrial and technology hub.
